Have you ever tried body brushing? You may not have heard of body brushing, an ancient beauty ritual that originates from India believing to heal and detoxify the body through your skin. This traditional technique is a way to incorporate detoxing into your daily routine by stimulating the lymphatic system and removing the build-up of dead skin cells.

 

A body brushing session lasts approximately 15 minutes, during which your massage therapist works a dry brush over your body in a rhythmic pattern of upwards, downwards and circular motions. The pressure can be light or heavier depending on your preferences and skin sensitivity.

 

It is generally used as a precursor to a massage session, as it revives your skin and helps to relax your body further before your massage.

 

Body brushing is known to speed up the processes of eliminating waste as it stimulates the lymph system. It can encourage blood flow through your body and clean out metabolic waste that usually builds up in our tissue and lymph nodes.
